Jacqueline Fernandez for Brides Today April 2019

April 15, 2019

Brides Today had the dream girl of Bollywood Jacqueline Fernandez as their April cover girl adorning “vintage” cocktail gowns and traditional looks picked out by fashion editor Shaurya Athley. Hair and makeup artist Daniel Bauer did a Brigitte Bardot hairdo and a 50’s eyeliner to bring up vintage glam!

The shoot required to be set outdoors, amidst a summer tropical exotic garden. Minimal botanical decor and antique furniture were tailored to match tropical wedding vibes that Fashion Director Nupur Mehta was hoping to achieve. The regular Bungalow gardens were transformed into a magical, exotic botanical space by decorator Devika Sakhuja in no time. Jacqueline was adorned with elegant dresses by JADE by Monica & Karishma throughout the shoot.

When shooting outdoors the constant change of light or bad sun position have their own sets of challenges in having to control and block natural light and set up lights on and so on. The lighting team I work with is a bunch of magicians I’ve often thought. Even with the language barrier, they understand what I want to do and they nail it every time.

It is always fun to shoot with  Jacqueline. She is always in great energy and delivers 200% so she makes it very easy for the entire team to deliver their best also. The shoot in its entirety had a very rustic chic vibe to it. Organic greens & crystal jewels set the elegant tone we were hoping to get.

Beauty Shoot
Aesthetically I love strong contrasts and when conditions are giving me nice clean sharp sunlight the results are almost every time pleasing.
Personal Shoot
To focus on personal work means you break free of the rules that come with the assigned projects. Everyone is free to be a bit risky and creative, think outside the box and pitch in ideas.
