The theme for this shoot was “exotic luxury”. Due to everyone’s heavy scheduling, the shoot had to happen close to Mumbai. Therefore we decided to use two properties in Alibag, a beachy, weekend getaway for Mumbaikars.
There is nothing like the luxury of privacy! Especially when shooting with celebrities and especially when shooting outdoors. Aditi Rao Hydari and I had worked together quite a few times in the past. We have become friends and she is one of the loveliest people to work with.
Vogue India fashion director Anaita Shroff Adajania was styling this story and Elton Fernandez did hair and makeup. All of them are some of the nicest, most chilled out people to be with. It hardly felt like work!
Very easy and very quick shoot as we only used natural light for the whole story.
The cover was shot on a different day back in Mumbai and it was shot on a phone!!!!
OnePlus has introduced their OnePlus6 phone which features some amazing camera capabilities. Vogue India collaborated with them and it became the first magazine in India to even shoot a cover on a cellphone camera.
All you need is a phone these days… and a great team and here is the result!!
